Sweet Soil

The soil being alkaline shows that the pH level of the soil, varying from 0 to 14, is above 7. Sweet soil also comprises of large amounts of sodium, calcium and magnesium making it less soluble than acidic or neutral soil. The soil types are also determined by tasting a bit of the soil, which shows that acidic soil has a sour taste when compared to alkaline soil which has a sweet taste and hence the name.
